As of today, the racing season is officially over at Laguna Seca. As part of this last event, the souvenir store put on an Oktoberfest complete with pumpkin carving contest, judged by race spectators. Not one to pass up a perfectly good opportunity to
win engage in friendly competition, I entered with a carving of a racecar going down the Corkscrew (Laguna Seca's signature curve), with an outline of the entire track framing the two. Below is a shot of the pumpkin at night, taken just after I finished carving it.

So how did I do in the contest? I came in second. To my
mother.

Dude, nice pumpkin! Wait, what was Mom's? And why does she always win the car group contests?
ROFLMAO omg i'm seriously laughing so hard right now. Go Mrs. Robertson! :: snort ::. w00t. pwned by one's own mother. Ah well. Nothing new.
But for what it's worth, I think yours is an AMAZING pumpkin. Or jack-o-lantern. Whatever. The racecar part is exquisite. It looks like it's driving at me!
That is CPA hotness right there.
Yeah what was Mrs. Robertson's entry? Was it a cockpit of a F1 car or something? *Gasp* or might there be evidence that the competition was rigged....uh oh someone greased the judges.
Mom cut a pumpkin in half lengthwise (stem to stubby thing on the bottom), cutting it to look like a Porsche Speedster, adding wheels, a windshield, and a whaletail made of pumpkin. Her carving looked better during the day, whereas mine was rather unspectacular in full light. Oh well. Mine is definitely more photogenic at night.
E3-CPA always does things better at night. Going along with our SHA-cupped emergency lights -- just goes to show it's our culture. Well you at least, you more of the night owl. =)
