Look Up

While waiting for the visa to come through (I don't want to jinx myself AGAIN, but there could be a special, more-than-once-in-a-forever post in the next few days...), I've been honing my spy photo skills (skillz?) with a little help from Dad. Last week we went for a quick jaunt around the peninsula, and here's what we came up with:

Bay on the left, Seaside, Sand City, and Highway 1 to the right.

Big Sur coastline, with Highway 1 cut into the hillside. The weird brown clumps in the water are kelp, by the way.

Big Sur Lighthouse and auxiliary buildings.

More of that rugged Big Sur coastline.

Elkhorn Slough, where I spent a considerable amount of time while working at Monterey Bay Kayaks. Notice the many mazelike creeks running through the brown pickleweed on either side of the slough - I have gotten lost in them more times than I would care to admit...

Very nice.

For Your Oscar Consideration

It's a bit late, but here's the long-awaited Halloween movie. Hopefully I didn't get your hopes up too much - remember, I am my own production studio, and these things take time when you're chugging along at 10 frames per second. So without further ado, sit back and enjoy tonight's feature presentation of THE END.

(NOTE: The first 7 seconds of the movie are entirely silent, so don't go cranking your speakers up just yet.)

Oh and please keep your cowbell comments to yourself.

Expect Some Delays

Well, I tried to get my mini-movie out in time for Halloween, but it turns out that not having my own production company means I have to do all the work myself, which means it's taking slightly longer than expected. Who woulda thought? As of right now, Part One is about 85% done and running about 2.5 minutes, plus whatever still needs to be added. I considered posting what I have right now since I'm working in sequential order, but it just didn't seem right quite yet upon review. Until then, here are a few mostly-spoiler-free teasers:
