Not much has been happening around here, as evidenced by my frequent posting, so I've been planning more cool things to add to the blog once there finally is something to report. (Yeah, the twins went off to college, but I figure you all got that information from other, somewhat less colorful news sources.)
Anyway, I cobbled together a sort of video using little clips I had taken with my digital camera while in Moorea. No effort whatsoever was made to make it to my usual standards of quality, so it really is here as a test. Better things are in the works, I assure you. Please let me know if you have any troubles seeing it, so I can fix it before the cool stuff starts showing up.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH SLOW INTERNET CONNECTIONS: you may have trouble playing this and future movies, so I will be adding a text play-by-play that reads somewhat like a script so you can still get a sense of what the video is without crashing your computer.
Hooray!
Two days later, the new site is up and running. While minor tweaks may be instituted here and there, I would recommend that you start getting used to this new layout. (Fun fact: if you refresh your browser, a new image will appear at the top! Right now there are only three four pictures, but more are on the way.) And in case you're wondering what this "Arrecife" business is, it shall be explained in due time.
Tahoe Pics
Not quite done processing all of the pictures I took, but here's the first batch. As ever, click the picture to see a larger version.

Pictures were taken with a Canon SD110 3.2MP digital camera on two hikes in Tahoe, one on August 22nd in Squaw Valley and the other on August 25th on the Tahoe Rim Trail, with the exception of the final picture, which was taken on August 26th in Lake Tahoe (literally). Images were later processed using Adobe Photoshop.
